Red Dirt Heart 4
Bookreview / January 28, 2015

The fourth and, sadly, last edition to the Red Dirt Heart Series. The Charlie and Travis story continues, this time we see things from Travis’ point of view. His love for Charlie brought him all the way to the other side of the world, where he found a new home, new friends and the love of his life. And OMG this last part is one of hell of a ride. It actually made me cry at least three times, it was that good. As we can see through Travis’ eyes, Charlie has changed and grown a lot in the years. He is still stubborn and always thought he did things wrong, but he gets a better control of things and is no longer afraid Travis will walk out on him. He manages one of the biggest stations in Australia and loves everything about it. Travis no longer thinks of Texas as home, but found a new home in Australia. He cannot imagine living anywhere else ever again. There is still some drama in this part (hence the crying) but all in all, romance is just dripping from the pages and I literally couldn’t stop reading until I finished it. This…

Just a Bit Obsessed – Straight Guys 2
Bookreview / January 25, 2015

Just a Bit Obsessed is the second book in the Straight Guys series, and also a great addition in my opinion. In this book we meet Christian, best friend to Shawn who we met in book 1. Christian always had a secret crush on Alexander Sheldon, but Alexander is straight so Christian thinks nothing will happen there. But then Alexanders girlfriend invites Christian over for a threesome with her and Alexander. Christian jumps to the chance of seeing Alexander naked for the first time and possibly even touch him. The threesome happens and everybody seems to like it. Over the course of a few months it happens several times. But unknown to Christian, Alexander finds it more and more difficult to deal with the feelings he is developing for Christian. He always thought he was straight, but now he is not so sure anymore. He doesn’t know what to do and what to say to his girlfriend who of course feels there is something wrong, but doesn’t know what. So what should he do and what will happen? I also loved this book very much, but for a MM book there is too much vagina in this book. I know…

Just a Bit Twisted – Straight Guys 1
Bookreview / January 25, 2015

As we all know the number one fantasy for any gay man is too seduce a straight guy and make him “see the light” and turn gay as well. In real life that almost never happens, but of course we can always fantasize about it. Just a Bit Twisted is exactly that kind of fantasy. Alessandra Hazard fantasizes away in the new Straight Guys series. The situation is almost always the same. There is a straight guy, a gay guy and for some reason they end up together. Quite simple, but very effective. In part 1 of the series we meet 20 year old Shawn Wyatt, who is struggling to take care of his two younger sisters, while maintaining a job and a scholarship. On the verge of losing his scholarship, he turns to Professor Derek Rutledge for help. Rutledge is the most feared Professor on campus, known to be strict and ruthless. But as we will soon learn, there is more to the Prof than meets the eye. He agrees to help Shawn in return for some sexual favors. He will give Shawn a passing grade and even pay him some money on the side. Although Shawn always thought…

Bottled Up Secret
Bookreview / January 21, 2015

This book falls in the Young Adult category, so as expected there is no sex. A little kissing and touching and the rest is described as “and then something wonderful happened” Bottled Up Secret is written for the younger readers after all. Brendan Madden is about to finish high school, has a great group of friends and recently discovered he is gay. He hasn’t told his friends yet, because he is afraid of what they will think of him. His mother is increasingly homophobic and suspects him to be gay, so he hasn’t told her either. Then one day he meets the wonderful Mark Galovic, a younger classmate. Instantly he is attracted to Mark. But Mark is straight, so he admires him from a distance. His feelings grow and grow and one day he breaks and tells Mark about his feelings for him. To his shock, Mark tells him he feels the same way about Brendan, but doesn’t want anyone to know about it. They begin dating, but everything must remain a secret. The further they get, the more difficult it is to lie to friends and family about why they are together so much and what happens between them….

Nothing Ventured
Bookreview / January 21, 2015

Another book by the wonderful Jay Northcote. But once again I find myself wondering where she comes up with these stories and why they are so simple, yet seem to work somehow. Nothing Ventured is the perfect addition to this series. Aides goes out with some work friends and while drunk promises to run out the Mad Mucker, a twelve mile run over a very muddy course. Sober again, he tries to get out of it, but his friends won’t let him. So Aiden needs to get in shape and soon. Matt is a last minute addition to the team, and also happens to be very sexy. He agrees to train with Aiden so they can support each other in their effort. And because of his sexy trainer, Aiden finds himself even more attracted to training. Pretty soon things heat up between the guys and their relation turns physical quite soon. But Matt doesn’t want to fall in love with a man, and Aiden doesn’t want to fall in love at all. So what can they do? They must decide what they want to do and soon, before things get out of hand. Both of them know that when the…
