Safe Place – Rainbow Place #2
Bookreview / October 24, 2018

Safe Place is part 2 in the Rainbow Place series by Jay Northcote, situated in the same universe as part 1, so characters from part 1 can be in this book as well, but won’t be playing the lead role. Alex is almost 18 and can’t wait to get out of the little town of Porthladock. Alex is gay, but firmly in the closet. His father is oppressive influence and a homophobe so Alex doesn’t really want to come out while he is still at home. Just one more exam and he can go to uni and be the person he always wanted to be. But when he fails his exam, it means he is stuck in town for a while longer and to make things even worse, he has to work for his dad. There is only one thing in his life that makes it worthwhile and that is Cam. Cam is bisexual and quite happy with it, but doesn’t want to broadcast it out in the world. His social life is all about rugby and hanging out with friends. He has always had a crush on Alex, but since Alex is 6 years younger, Cam is not sure…

About Single White Incubus Does a bear shift in the woods? Well, partially. That was what got grizzly shifter Ted Farnsworth into trouble. He wasn’t trying to break the Secrecy Pact. He just wants people to see the real him. So he signs up with the mate-matching service Supernatural Selection — which guarantees marriage to a perfect partner. Quentin Bertrand-Harrington, scion of an incubus dynasty, has abstained from sex since nearly killing his last lover. Supernatural Selection finds him the ideal vampire, and Quentin signs the marriage agreement sight unseen. But a mix-up at Supernatural Selection contracts Quentin with Ted. What’s Ted supposed to do with an art historian who knows more about salad forks than screwdrivers? And how can Quentin resist Ted’s mouthwatering life force? Rainbow Place – Rainbow Place #1
Bookreview / October 22, 2018

Rainbow Place is a new series by Jay Northcote, all centred around an LGBT friendly cafe in a small English town. The perfect setting for all kinds of things, like we will learn pretty soon. Seb Radcliffe relocates to a small town in Cornwall, determined to make something of his new life. Because he is used to life in the big city, he misses queer spaces and LGBT friendly people, so he decides to open his own LGBT friendly cafe-bar. But when he finds the perfect spot, it is going to need a little work and Seb is not cut out to do any DIY. So he hires someone to bring his dream to life. Jason Dunn is the local builder, hired by Seb to do the work on his bar. Like Seb, Jason is also gay, but he is deep in the closet and in denial. He has never allowed himself to be in a relation with another man, only occasional hook ups when he gets the chance. However, the second he meets Seb, it is love at first sight for both of them. But Seb is out and proud and doesn’t want to hide his feelings for Jason….

Building Forever
Blogtour , Bookteaser / October 17, 2018

Building Foreveris the first in a series of standalone novels focused on older characters who think love has passed them by. I loved writing these second chance romances, and I hope you enjoy reading about the books—especially this one because Charlie and Simon will forever be the characters who started me on this journey. About Building Forever A new town, a new neighbor, anda new chance to build a forever. Charlie King is doing fine. Sure, he’s a widower raising a teenage daughter who just got her first boyfriend, his book series isn’t writing itself, and he has a crush on his new neighbor — the guy next door. But everything’s just fine. Simon Lynley is doing better. He moved to Bethlehem to fall out of love and rebuild his career. An affair with his neighbor isn’t part of the plan, but the attraction between them is too hard to ignore. But when Simon’s ex follows him to Pennsylvania seeking reconciliation, and Charlie’s life starts to feel like a video on repeat, everything comes apart. Charlie worries that he’s failing as a father, and Simon is a distraction he can’t afford. Meanwhile Simon doesn’t know if he could survive being…

Too Hot!
Blogtour , Bookteaser / October 12, 2018

Nice to meet you, everyone. I’m Avery Giles, and I’m here to promote my smoldering debut novel, Too Hot! Follow my blog tour to for a glimpse into my writing process AND a chance to win a $10 Riptide gift card. AboutToo Hot Sparks aren’t just flying . . . they’re catching. Eli Johnson is not a hero. He’s just a guy who’s doing his best. His mother was a hero, though, and when she died, he dropped out of college to become a firefighter—a vocation she would have been proud of. He might not be able to save everyone, but he can do what she taught him: put more good out than bad. Charlie Kinnear is definitely not a hero. When he ran into a burning building to save a trapped child, he was acting on instinct. He’s not expecting a medal, or for a handsome firefighter with a stunning smile to give him his oxygen mask. Charlie’s light-headed, and not from smoke inhalation. Right as their romance begins, a serial arsonist terrorizes the city. As if that weren’t bad enough, Charlie appears at the scene of every fire. Eli hates to think it, but if someone wanted to…

I’m not looking for answers to explain why I am the way I am. This is the logic others use to try to make sense of me. According to them, there has to be a reason for my apathy. There has to be some sort of explanation for the calculating way I run my Club. There has to be a root cause for my depravity. They can’t wrap their heads around the fact that I’m evil, that I’m darkness personified. Doing so would force them to acknowledge that the Devil has left Hell and is living among them.
