His Royal Secret – His Royal Secret #1
Bookreview / August 7, 2017

Imagine a world where the crown prince of England is gay and desperately seeking for someone to fill the gap in his life. Always in the publics eye he is used to keeping up appearances. But being gay is the biggest secret of them all, and apart from a few people nobody knows about it. As far as the people go, James is straight and next in line for the throne of England. Lady Cassandra is his best friend and has always acted as his beard, pretending to be his girlfriend when needed and causing distraction when wanted. So far the deception has worked. James really wants to come out, but he knows he can’t. Because when he does, he will be removed from the line and the throne will fall to his sister Amelia. But Amelia has problems of her own and is in no way fit for the position. For her, James will keep the secret forever if he has to. While on a holiday in Kenya, James meets Benjamin Dahan, a reporter for a big newspaper. Fate forces them together for a while and soon James finds himself intrigued by Benjamin and wanting to know more about…

Imagines – Imago #2
Bookreview / August 6, 2017

Imagines is part 2 in the Imago series, which logically follows part 1 in the series. Immediately after finishing part 1 I started the second part, because I had to know what happened next. And I certainly wasn’t disappointed. Lawson and Jack have been together for 6 months now, and are still madly in love with each other. Lawson is still very much involved in saving the new found species of butterfly, the Tillman Copper. Jack is working very hard to deal with the aftermath of a big fire they had that destroyed a big part of the forest. Tired from working, Jack suggest they take a trip together for some much needed rest and vacation. Lawson agrees, but he is offered a 2 week stay in Queensland to help deal with another butterfly problem. So they figure they can mix work and pleasure and fly out to beautiful Queensland. Lawson is working side by side with world famous professor Piers Bonfils, who seems to be taking an interest in Lawson more than just professional. Will Lawson be able to deal with that or not? Aside from that Lawson is offered a more permanent position in Queensland. So now he…

Imago – Imago #1
Bookreview / August 5, 2017

Imago is part 1 in the new Imago series by one of my all time favourite authors N.R. Walker. As usual this one is set in Australia and it is a love story so sweet it will make your heart melt and leave with you with a smile for days. Once I started reading it, I just couldn’t stop until the end. Lawson Gale is an expert in the field of butterflies or a lepidopterist. He is a bit nerdy and introvert, but he always means well. At the request of an old professor he finds himself in a small town in Tasmania, looking for a species of butterfly that may or may not exist at all. If he finds it, it could be a career changing event. But what he never dreamed of finding was love. Jack Brighton works as a local Parks & Wildlife officer, living in the very small town of Scottsdale. He loves working out doors, and with his dog Rosemary living with him he has all he will ever need. Until he runs into a nerdy science guy called Lawson. There is so much more to this guy than butterflies and he desperately wants to…

Head Over Paws
Bookreview / May 9, 2017

Head Over Paws is a book by Rory Wilde, an author I had never heard of before but if all of her stories are like this one I sure want to find out more. I absolutely love a story with animals in it, and this one has one of the cutest animals you have ever seen, a beautiful dog named Bella. Her owner is Ollie Rookwood and he loves his dog very much. After being brutally dumped by his boyfriend all he has left is Bella. But when Bella is attacked and seriously wounded he has to rush her to the vet and pray she will be alright. And the last thing on his mind is finding the man of his dreams when going to the vet, but that is exactly what he does. Harry Knowles has been a veterinarian for a long time and after a long string of failed relations he has given up on ever finding the man of his dreams. But when Ollie comes rushing into his clinic with a wounded dog, he becomes very interested in the tattooed man. After saving the dog he hires Ollie to redo the logo for his clinic, only to…

A Second Harvest – Men of Lancaster County #1
Bookreview / May 1, 2017

A Second Harvest is part 1 in the new Men of Lancaster County series by Eli Easton and is all about a few of my favourite subjects. It has been a while ago since I read this book, but I still remember the pleasure I had when reading it. David Fisher has been living by the rules all his life, but never his own rules. Born in to a Mennonite family he has always obeyed his father and took over the family farm when his father died. He married and had two children, all as was expected of him. But it never was what he really wanted from life, and he has been denying himself all his life. Now both his kids are in college and his wife died. He is running the farm all alone, but all joy has gone from his life. That is, until he meets Christie Landon, who lives in a small house not far from him. Christie is a graphic designer and has been living in Manhattan all his life. But now he is looking for some peace and quiet and moved into a small house he inherited from his aunt when she died. Not…

Starting from Scratch – Housemates #5
Bookreview / April 30, 2017

And for another day, another wonderful novel from the even more wonderful Jay Northcote. It was send to me as an ARC and let me tell you, I LOVE this story. In the few weeks I have had it, I must have read it at least 5 times already and I know I will be reading it again and again. I love the whole Housemates series, but I especially love this part. Starting from Scratch is part 5 in the series, my reviews for part 1, part 2, part 3 and part 4 can also be found on this blog. Ben is transgender (he used to be a girl) and back at university after hormone treatment and chest surgery. His new housemates have no idea about his history and Ben wants to keep it that way. He’s starting from scratch and his life is finally on track, except in the romance department. The idea of dating guys as a guy is exhilarating but terrifying, because if Ben wants a boyfriend he’ll have to disclose his secret. Sid is drawn to Ben from the moment they meet. He normally gets what he wants—in the short term at least. Ben’s guarded at first,…
