Edge: A BDSM Romance

August 26, 2018

Well, as we all know, to keep the life of a book blogger interesting you have to try out a new thing every now and then. And let me tell you, this time I did. I was contacted by Drew Lennox, the author of this book. He wanted to know if I would be willing to read and review his latest novel Edge. It is all about a starting BDSM relation and the MC’s are a man and a woman. Both are not my usual thing, but because of the personal request I decided to take on the book and read it.

So I received this book directly from the author and started reading it. I was prepared for a story different from what I would normally read, and I was not disappointed.

Charlie is a young woman, recently single and enjoying life to the fullest. She is not really looking for a new man, but when she comes in contact with Xander, that might change. Xander is an author and one of Charlies friends is a great fan. Charlie meets Xander through this friend and pretty soon strikes up a relation with Xander. All seems to be going very well and pretty soon Charlie is head over heels in love with Xander. But Xander has a secret that he desperately wants to share with Charlie, but he is not sure how she will react to it.

Xander is a Dom and has been for at least 12 years. He really wants Charlie to be his sub, but he has to ease her into the lifestyle, or she might run away scared and never come back again. But is Charlie willing to go there with Xander? Is she willing to give up that kind of control to him? And what will Charlie do when she slowly learns more and more about what it means to be in a BDSM relation?

The main reason this book is different is because it really takes you back to the beginning of the relation. Nobody is born with knowledge about BDSM and all who are willing to go there need to be introduced and guided by an experienced person in the lifestyle. Naturally Charlie is curious, but one night of reading things on Google is getting her a bit scared about what is expected of her when she is willing to go with this.

There is quite some BDSM in this book, but it is not the main focus of the book. There is also a lot of background story and a lot of other things Charlie and Xander do together to grow closer and really fall in love. I guess that is what makes me like this book so much, it is not all about the sex, there are other aspects to the story.

Ever been curious about how a BDSM relationship begins? Intrigued but not sure you want to experience it? Follow Charlie as she embarks on this very journey after meeting Xander, a Dom who has lived this lifestyle for the last twelve years. Edge will take you to the very beginning, letting you explore every single fear, emotion and struggle. The story will give you a look into the adventures of vetting time, leading to their first session.

Now I don’t really know if this book has turned me on to the genre, but I certainly enjoyed reading this book and I would recommend it to anyone. Please be warned that there are BDSM elements in the story, so if you don’t like that than this book is not for you. You can buy this book on Amazon.
