This has got to be one of the worst books I ever read. Maybe it…
Pretend is part 3 in the Blackcreek series and it tells the story of Mason Alexander and Gavin Davis. Both of them have things they are running away from and both hope to find it in the little town of Blackcreek.
Mason is running from his parents who want him to take over the family business. But he wants to know if he can make it on his own. So he comes to Blackcreek and buys the local bar.
Gavin is also running from his parents, who say he is going to hell for being gay. They want him to forget what he is and find a nice girl and settle down. But when Gavin even loses his job as a music teacher because he wants to help someone, everything becomes to much for him and he runs. He ends up in Blackcreek, where is once boyfriend and know best friend lives. Looking for a job, he ends up in Mason’s bar as a bartender.
Pretty soon it becomes obvious the guys have feelings for each other. But in order for that to happen, they have to work through all their problems, be honest with each other and work very hard to make things work.
I have read books by Riley Hart before and I have always loved them very much. Her characters are very real, lots of emotions and it almost feels real. However, do we really need sex scenes that go on and on for 4 or 5 pages? I have imagination, I don’t have to read what goes where and who does what to the other. But other than that, I adore these books.
Find out more about Riley Hart on her personal blog here. The Blackcreek series ends with this one, but on her blog she says more books might come that are placed in the small town as well. I sure hope so…..
