My Razzle Dazzle: An Outsider’s True story is an autobiography by Todd Peterson. I received this book from the author requesting a review. Born on a Wisconsin farm in the 60’s Todd slowly realizes he is not like all the other boys he knows. His brothers, friends and the guys are all different from him. It takes him some time to put a name to it. Todd is gay. When he sees the Roller Derby on tv for the first time, he knows what he wants in life. He has to be a part of this new sport, no matter what happens. Leaving his child home and going to the big city, he grows up against all the evens that happened in the 60’s. The very first gay pride, growing gay rights and finding love for the first time. Todd never really gets his dream, although he comes very close to it. But being gay in that time was very hard and you had to overcome a lot of difficulties, problems and judgment. Now I really liked the beginning of the story and it swept me up right away, but just past the middle that is where Todd lost me….
