Midlife Crisis
Blogtour , Bookteaser / August 31, 2017

About Midlife Crisis Cam McGhee grew up like any other small-town Texas farm boy: he played football, went to church every Sunday, and married his high school sweetheart. But thirty-five years after he said “I do,” Cam finds himself nursing a beer in a gay bar, thinking about what might have been. Dave Montoya is confident, self-assured, and cautiously single. But when he meets shy, uncertain, and clearly-still-not-out Cam in a coffee shop in Austin, his reservations about getting seriously involved again disappear. Cam is everything he’s looking for in a partner . . . almost, anyway. No matter how much Dave wants him, and how good they are together, Cam can’t bring himself to openly embrace the life he was meant to live. After all, when his secret finally gets out, he faces the very real possibility of losing everything that kept him going for the first fifty years of his life, just like he’s feared for so long. But with a little faith—and a lot of love—his dream of living fully, truly, as himself might finally be within reach. 90’s Playlist
Bookreview / October 13, 2015

I received 90’s Playlist as an ARC and I read it with pleasure. It is an anthology consisting of six stories. The idea is that they are about being young in the 90’s and all stories are based on a specific song of that period. In an earlier blog some of the writers explained how the story relates to the song they chose. All authors were unknown to me, except one. Amy Jo Cousins also wrote one of the stories in this book. Some stories were excellent, some a little less. But all were a great read, and they weren’t even LBGT in nature sometimes. My Strongest Weakness by Brighton Walsh is a story about a love that is so wrong and yet so good. Goth girl Tia Lanning is banging the big man on campus Mason Brooks and no one can ever find out. But what happens when there love grows to strong to hide? Worthwhile by Audra North is about Jill who moved to England to be with her boyfriend only to be dumped by him on the second day. Now what should she do? Cry and go home or see if there is another cute boy out…

90’s Playlist inspiration
Author Interview , Blogtour / October 12, 2015

Tomorrow, October 13, the anthology 90’s Playlist will be released. My review will also be posted on that same day. But the day before the release the authors of the stories shared with me what inspired their story and why that specific song would fit the story so well. Here is what they said… I have chosen to insert the video of the song so you can listen to it and get in the mood while reading the story. As a child of the 90’s I remember each and everyone of these songs and I think they fit very well with the stories. Brighton Walsh I chose If by Janet Jackson. It was a hard choice, narrowing down which song to use. I had a short list of about 10, and I played out different plots for each of them. And, in fact, I changed my original song I was planning to use. The idea for a plot based on If—“if I was your girl, the things I’d do to you…”—was just too good to pass up. I loved exploring the secret lover trope, and also playing with the enemies to lovers trope. Lorelie Brown My story comes from listening…
