Hard Candy – Bend or Break #7
Bookreview / March 22, 2016

Hard Candy is part 7 in the Bend or Break series and tells us the story of Vincent (Vinnie) Lim. As we learned in part 6 he has an occasional hook up thing with his best friend Austin and he assumed Austin would always be there waiting for him. But then Austin fell in love with Sean and is no longer available. And now Vinnie is lost and doesn’t know what to do anymore. So one night he goes out dancing and picks up Bryan, a dance major. Vinnie is drunk and the one night stand turns out to be one of the worst he has ever had. He totally blew it and does what he always does. Pretend it never happened and he doesn’t know Bryan. But Bryan is the one person he cannot forget. Bryan is the totally out and totally posterboy for gay. He knows he wants Vinnie to pay attention to him but he knows he has to fight for it. Vinnie has a one tracked mind, always living up to someone else’s expectations. But Bryan won’t accept being left out and he demands to have attention. Will Vinnie be able to deal with that and…

Love Me Like a Rock – Bend or Break #6
Bookreview / March 22, 2016

Now as we all know I am a long time fan of the Bend or Break series, ever since part 1. And the more we get, the better they get. Love Me Like a Rock is part 6 in the series and tells the story of Austin (and a little Vinnie) who we already met in Level Hands). Amy Jo Cousins just keeps on writing one perfect story after another and it makes me fall more and more in love with these books and characters. So when I had the chance of reading parts 6 and 7 as an ARC I jumped at the chance and promised to write a review about them. So here they are….. Austin is an artist and always has been. Whatever his eyes see, his hands create. But there is one thing that keeps bothering him. He has a thing for his best friend Vinnie, who he occasionally hooks up with. He is hoping it will turn out into more, but Vinnie doesn’t seem to be interested in anything more. Austin gets more and more frustrated, but what can he do? At an evening drawing class he meets Sean, the naked male model in front…

Real World – Bend or Break #5
Bookreview / December 24, 2015

Real World is part 5 in the Bend or Break series by Amy Jo Cousins. Now as we all know I am a huge fan of the series and that hasn’t changed with this part. I already participated in the cover reveal for this book right here, and finally I read the book for real. And all I can say is “Wow, she did it again….” I LOVE LOVE LOVE these books and that will never change. In part 1 we met Tom Worthington who was so afraid of people finding out about his criminal father, it nearly paralyzed him. He totally withdrew from the world and nearly lost his boyfriend Reese Anders because of it. And now, 5 years later, it starts all over again. Tom’s father is about to be released from prison and is reaching out to his son to reconnect. His father has not changed and still thinks he did nothing wrong and was falsely accused of his crimes. Tom is torn apart over making the choice. The man is still his father, but he doesn’t want anything to do with him anymore. Should he go and visit him or not? Reese is stuck in a…

Level Hands – Bend or Break #4
Bookreview / August 7, 2015

Level Hands is the newest addition to the Bend or Break series by Amy Jo Cousin and I was asked to read and review this book as part of an eARC/Blogtour . Of course I agreed knowing how much I loved this series so far. And I was not disappointed, I loved part 4 just as much as the previous three. In part 3 we briefly met Rafael Castro and Denny Winslow. Denny is Cash’s nephew recently out of the closet and Rafael is part of the team that Cash coaches. There definitely was something between Rafael (Rafi) and Denny, but there was no time exploring it. On his 18th birthday Denny persuaded Rafi to kiss him just to know what it feels like to be kissed by another guy. But it never went further than that. This book is set about two years later as Rafi is going to college on a scholarship, the same college that Denny is at. They kept in touch all this time, but haven’t seen each other again after their last encounter. So now they will meet again and they will discover if there is still something between them or not. Tensions are rising…

The Girl Next Door – Bend or Break #3
Bookreview / July 26, 2015

The Girl Next Door is part 3 in the Bend or Break series by Amy Jo Cousins and I must say I am falling in love with these books more and more. I already loved part 1 and part 2, but part 3 is equally fantastic, if not more. In part 3 we catch up again with Charles “Cash” Carmichael, who we already met in part 1 as best friend of Tom. In this part Cash is quite a different man from what he once was. He told his family where they could stick their job and appartment. He would be doing something completely different, something his heart is more into. So he ends up coaching soccer for Chicago’s less privileged kids. The money is bad, the surroundings are bad but he loves his job very much. Then suddenly one night his cousin is standing at his door, all the way from the other side of the country. His cousin recently came out to his parents, who did not believe him and told him it was just a phase and it would pass. Cash has no idea how to handle this. So he asks for help…. And who better to…
