This is one of those books that takes a little while to grow on you, but than you absolutely love it. That is what happened to me. Travis is living in a small town somewhere in America. His wife died and left him with 3 children to take care of. Together with his sister and some friends he tries to make the best of it. He still misses his wife very much and visits her grave very much. Because it is a small town everyone knows everyone and it is very hard to keep something a secret. And then the new vet Wesley comes to town. The old vet is retiring and leaving her practice to Wesley. Young Wesley is very gay and not afraid to show it as much as he can. His small yellow car with the rainbow sticker on the back, his very fashionable clothing are soon the cause of much rumor in town. Not everyone likes the new vet, but for the moment he is tolerated.
