Imaginary Things
Blogtour , Bookteaser / March 7, 2016

Imaginary Things is a novel by Andrea Lochen, who kindly requested me to give some coverage to her latest novel. And since I think it is a great story, I am only happy to oblige. I urge you all to buy this book if you can, you will not be disappointed. Burned-out and broke, twenty-two-year-old single mother Anna Jennings moves to her grandparents’ rural home for the summer with her four-year-old son, David. The sudden appearance of shadowy dinosaurs forces Anna to admit that either she’s lost her mind or she can actually see her son’s active imagination. Frightened for David’s safety, Anna struggles to learn the rules of this bizarre phenomenon and how best to protect him. But what she uncovers along the way is completely unexpected: revelations about what her son’s imaginary friends truly represent and dark secrets about her own childhood imaginary friend. Living next door is Jamie Presswood, Anna’s childhood friend who’s grown much more handsome and hardened than the boy she once knew. But past regrets and their messy lives are making the rekindling of their complex friendship prove easier said than done. Between imaginary creatures stalking her son and a tumultuous relationship with David’s…

Stealing Innocents
Blogtour , Bookteaser / January 13, 2016

Stealing Innocents is the new novel by Lisa Henry, writing as Cari Waites. It is all about the darker side of life and things that not many of us will ever experience. If you would dare to scratch the surface of ordinary life, you may find a sick and horrible world underneath. A true nightmare world where villains and victims, predators and prey live and where the normal rules of life do not apply. This book is not for the faint of heart, so be aware when you read it. Where you’ll find people like Danny, the boy who sells himself to pay for his father’s gambling debts and ends up in a situation more twisted than he ever imagined. Or Troy, the cop whose obsession with saving a brutalized human trafficking victim turns deadly. Or Drew, the mental patient who begins to suspect his nightly delusions of abuse by his doctor are actually real. Or David, the cuckolded husband who decides the best way to get revenge is to seduce his wife’s barely legal son. Stealing Innocents is an exploration of our darkest human impulses, where sex is power, love is horror, and there’s no such thing as a happy…

A Way Home
Bookreview / April 15, 2015

A Way Home is the third and sadly the final part in the Gay Amish Romance series by Keira Andrews. And I for one was dying to read this. The first 2 parts are great and I have read them several times already. The third part is equally great, I absolutely LOVED it. Once I started reading I just could not stop reading, I needed to know how it ended. At the end of part 2 Isaac was forced back to Amish country to be with his sick brother, leaving David behind. Something happened between them and neither one was sure if they would be together again or not. Both gave in to insecurity and fear and their relationship suffered because of it. David is convinced he has to go after Isaac to win him back again, but will it be too late or not? Once again both boys are back in Zebulon with their families. Everyone is trying to get them to come back, repent for their sins and return home. It is the right thing to do and it would make everyone happy again. But Isaac and David want to be together and that can never happen in…

Served Hot – Portland Heat #1
Bookreview / April 9, 2015

Served Hot is the first part in the new Portland Heat series by Annabeth Albert. Other parts are Baked Fresh and Delivered Fast that will come out later this year. All books are about food, coffee, shops and restaurants and all are placed in the Portland area, hence the title of the series. In this first part we meet Robby, a self employed barista who serves coffee and cakes to a long line of customers every day. He owns the business and loves it very much. And he has a major crush on one of his regular customers, David. At first he knows little about David, just that he is cute, friendly and is very easy to chat with. Robby is looking for a way to ask David out, but never seems to find the chance. Until David shows up at the local Pride festival and Robby finally gets his chance. But the more they get together in the relation, the more it seems that David has some problems of his own and needs to work through them first. But can Robby wait that long? It’s not a big book, but I loved loved loved it. Both guys are so…

A Clean Break
Bookreview / February 13, 2015

Finally, finally Keira Andrews published the second part in the Gay Amish series about Isaac and David. And OMG what a fantastic book it is !!! As we learned in part 1, Isaac and David are 2 Amish boys who fall in love and because of that decide to escape the Amish community and venture out in the world. At the end of part 1 they make their escape. Part 2 picks up where we left of. Both boys are now living with Isaac’s brother in San Fransisco. They can now be openly gay and love each other. But they also have to learn about the world, modern technology and everything else. Pretty soon Isaac goes to school, makes new friends and seems to be really thriving in the world. But David is feeling more and more guilty about leaving his mother and sisters behind. He is also trying to get his carpentry business running and learning the way of the big city. So even though they are sleeping together every night and they really love each other they must fight real hard not to drift apart forever. And then, in the last few pages something really shocking happens. A…
