Blogtour , Bookreview / October 23, 2016

This book was send to me as an ARC and a request for a review, so here it is guys. First of all, as you all know I love stories that play in high school and coming of age stories, so I had high hopes for this one going by the title alone. And I was not disappointed. Peter Mandel is 18 and very private. He is a photography freak and can always be seen with a camera around his neck or close at hand. He is gay but prefers to keep it a secret to everyone. But when Adam Algedi joins the class for the senior year everything changes for Peter. Adam makes it very clear that he wants Peter, but it can never be out in the open. At home behind closed doors they can do whatever they want, but outside they can only be friends and nothing more. And so begins a journey of first love, first sex and a lot of secrets. Sometimes Peter has enough of all the secrets and just wants Adam to be open about their relation, but Adam always manages to talk him out of it. But when Adam gets a girlfriend…

V4 Vengeance – The Jim Wilson Series #1
Bookreview / April 11, 2016

I received this book as an ARC requesting a review and I gladly accepted. V4 Vengeance has been self published in the past but will now be available through a publisher. Usually books about a subject like this are not my thing, but this one is an exception. It took me a few pages to get into the story, but once I got it I had to finish it in one go. The story is quite believable, the characters very well written and who doesn’t love a good mystery with hidden submarines, a man bent on destroying the world and a secret mission  looking for WW2 mysteries. I loved it !! Desperately seeking employment, recently discharged Royal Engineer Jim Wilson takes on an impossible challenge with the help of his former army mates, Ivan and Geordie. Hired by a Russian museum, they are sent to the Baltic coast of Germany to find a rumored World War II U Boat base. Their discovery is beyond shocking: not only does the base exist—it contains secret submarines full of V2 rocket bombs. And they are not working for a museum. They are at the mercy of a notorious group of Russian mobsters, the…

Corruption of Power
Bookreview / December 25, 2015

Corruption of Power is a novel by G.W. Eccles and it was send to me as an ARC, requesting a review. It is part 2 in the Leksin series, Alex Leksin being an independent troubleshooter who is available for hire and can solve all your problems if you pay him enough. In this novel he is hired by Russian Prime Minister Saidov to aid in a plan that will make Russia less dependent on Europe, since they think Europe is an unreliable partner in every way. President Karpev wants to shift the balance of power by placing his energy market to the east and not the west. In order to do so he needs to build a pipeline through Turkmenistan and Afghanistan to be able to access these markets. In 12 days the contract for the pipeline will be signed, but some people are hell bent on not letting in get that far. The stakes are high and tensions are constantly close to explosion level. And to make things worse, wherever Leksin goes to investigate, somebody wants to kill him and make sure he doesn’t reach his goal. Saidov wants Leksin to find out who is behind all of this,…

The Churning
Blogtour , Bookreview , Bookteaser / November 30, 2015

The Churning is a novel by Justin Edison and was sent to me as an ARC requesting a review. I gladly accepted, and read the book last week. Here’s my take on the story. Arman Hessabi is a young, handsome and rich English football player. He is Persian American and takes in all he can get. He really thinks he has deserved all the things coming to him, the alcohol, the women, the money and all the winnings. He lives his life to the fullest and enjoys every minute of it. Until the day he finds himself chained to a chair and surrounded by enemies. Where is he and how did he get here? And most of all, what does he need to do to escape? When he first wakes up he is blindfolded and has no idea where he is or how he got there. Some vague memories of a blond woman and a lot of alcohol, but after that nothing. Let me start of by saying I really don’t like football and have no idea about the rules or how the game is played. And that is what I would really recommend for anyone reading this story, a…
