More Than Words – More than Anything #2
Bookreview / August 12, 2016

More Than Words is the latest addition to the More than Anything series by T.T. Kove. After reading part 1 I knew this second part had to be good and I was not disappointed at all. I loved it all the way and read it with great pleasure. Alex had a rough life and he just can’t take it anymore. He has no friends, nothing to live for and nobody will miss him when he is gone. So one day he decides it might be for the best if he clears out his locker, get out of school and just put and end to it all. But then some jerk crashes into him and sends all his belongings scattering across the floor. The misery never seems to end for Alex. All of a sudden someone kneels down beside him and helps him gathering his stuff together again. Alex is surprised to see Andreas, best friend with the guy who has been bullying Alex the worst of all. Why would a guy like Andreas help Alex? What does he want from him? Andreas turns out to be nothing like his friends. He is interested in Alex and the things he does and…

No! Jocks Don’t Date Guys – Jock #2
Bookreview / May 2, 2016

No! Jocks Don’t Date Guys is the second part in the Jock series. I read part 1 in the past and I liked it very much. As you all know I have a special place in my heart for jock and nerd stories and this one falls right in that category. And I loved it so much ! Chris Jackson has always been raised learning one thing. Every man in his family dates and eventually marries a cheerleader. His father did, his brother did and everyone expect him to do the same. But what happens when Chris learns his attractions are different? Alonzo Martin is everything but a cheerleader. He is not blond and he most certainly doesn’t dress like a cheerleader. With black hair, combat boots and nail polish he tries very hard to not give in to the attention Chris is giving him. After all, why would a jock be interested in someone like him at all? It has to be some kind of trick to make him look stupid right? From the moment Chris saw Alonzo, he has been feeling weird things. There is something about this guy that makes him want to be a better man…

My Roommate’s a Jock? Well, Crap! – Jock #1
Bookreview / January 26, 2016

My Roommate’s a Jock? Well, Crap! is the first part in the new Jock series by Wade Kelly. Now I for one absolutely love the whole jock-nerd theme and so I was anxious to read this book. And I wasn’t disappointed at all, I loved this book. I can only hope the other parts will be just as great as this one. Cole Reid is gay and was publicly outed by his high school baseball team. Because of that he really really hates jocks of any kind and has become somewhat of a loner. He wants things to go his way and is somewhat of a neat freak. So when his roommate moves out to be with his girlfriend Cole is looking for a new roommate, but one that will live up to his expectations and rules. And absolutely no jocks allowed. So what does the manager send him as a replacement? Ellis Montgomery is messy, gorgeous, of course straight, and to top it all of a jock of the worst kind. So when he shows up at Coles door, accompanied by  some of his loud friends, Cole is about to have a heart attack. But a whole school year…

Tearing Us Apart
Blogtour , Bookteaser / October 21, 2015

Tearing Us Apart is the new novel by Amanda Clay and falls in the Young Adult section. I have not actually read the book but was asked to be part of the blog tour for the book. Therefore I cannot give an opinion about the book, but I do plan to read it in the future. Julian Pham is surviving high school. Openly gay, flamboyantly goth, and Vietnamese-American, he’s just about as different as his Oklahoma City high school can tolerate. He has good friends and a supportive family, which helps, but lately his family is changing and his friends have troubles of their own. Julian is afraid he’s being left behind. Then he meets Duncan. The star of the school basketball team, Duncan has never crossed Julian’s social path. A fateful encounter one cold night brings the two young men together, igniting a romance that neither of them expected, and that both can scarcely believe. But Julian and Duncan are in different places.  Julian is happily out, unconcerned with others’ opinions. And Duncan, while he knows who he is, isn’t ready to face the challenges of living out loud. Even as the two grow closer together, Julian begins to…

Common Ground
Bookreview / April 25, 2015

Common Ground is a book by Benton Harrison and would fall in the jock-nerd category, one of my personal favorites. There is something about high school boys that I really like in a book and this one is no different. Beechum Finch is a science nerd in high school, about to graduate. Most of his time there was pleasant, but there has always been one bully, named Marlowe Craig. For all those years he has made Beechums life miserable, but so far Beechum has endured it. Hudson Gudmani is on the same football team as Marlowe, but has one big secret. He has always had a crush on Beechum, but so far never acted on it. One night he decides to act on it and things start to change for sure. But will Marlowe allow them to be happy together? First of all, I really liked the book and the story, but the whole thing just seemed a bit easy to me. All those years Hudson never did anything and then one night he just “decides” to tell Beechum about his feelings. And within days from that they are very much in love. In the beginning they have fake girlfriends…
