Point of No Return is the first book in the Turning Point series, a series about people forced to make important decisions that could be a turning point in their life. Matthew Elliot is a cop, one of the best detectives in LA. Somewhat famous and very well liked by all who know him. But Matthew has a deep dark secret, he is secretly gay and doesn’t want anyone to know about it. He manages to hide it very well, until he meets Kira Takeo Franco or Frankie, his new gym instructor. The attraction between the men is instant and they both fall in love deeply. Kira is fine with the fact that Matthew wants to hide their relationship for his co workers, understanding the tough world a cop lives in. But then a criminal from Matthews past returns and learns about his love for Kira. The third part in the series and a worthy following up. Charlie and Travis are still together and life is flowing steady on the farm in outback Australia. But then things go wrong. Ma hasn’t been feeling well lately and keeps getting worse. Charlie still feels he is not good enough for Travis and has to learn to talk about his feelings. Then a call from America comes calling Travis back home again for an unknown time. It forces the boys apart and allows them time to think things over. Do they really want to be together or not? Is Charlie prepared to come out to other people and freely admit he is gay and in love with Travis? And to complete it all, Charlie’s long lost mother come back on the scene, wanting to be back in his life again and telling him he has a brother now. It all becomes too much for Charlie and he has to find a way to make everything right again in his head, his mind and his heart. I have said it before and I will say it again. I LOVE these books. N.R. Walker has a way with words that just…

Red Dirt Heart 2

The Red Dirt Heart series by NR Walker is one of my favourites to date. First of all, it is set in Australia, a country that I just love. Second of all, there is a lot of romance, love and friendship in this book. And last, I really like all the characters in the book and the way they are described. I can really see them in my mind and relate to them easily. In the first part we learn about Charlie Sutton who runs a big farm in Australia and is prepared to spend his life alone in the desert. But then Travis, an American student, enters his life and everything changes. They fall in love almost instantly and must learn to deal with that. Because of his nature, Charlie is very closed and not used to talk about his emotions. He thinks Travis will get up and leave at any moment. Travis however thinks differently. He loves Charlie all the way and decides to stay in Australia with Charlie and change his life forever. He works very hard and does his share of the work at the farm, but spends every night with Charlie. But then something happens…
