Touch the Sky – Free Fall #1
Bookreview / May 1, 2016

I hosted a blogtour for this book earlier and my good friend Dana wrote a review for it, but this time I read the book myself and I need to release my feelings about the book. Because wow, this book really hit a nerve with me. A big part of the book deals with mental problems, and that has always been a special subject for me. I can only imagine what it would be like to deal with these things, but it must be hard. And for someone like that to find love and even maintain a relationship with someone else, it makes me feel warm on the inside. Lucas Barnett and Gabriel Stewart had a rough childhood. Nothing was easy for them and all they had was each other. As children they made promises about love and forever, but in the end none of that happened and Gabriel disappeared without a trace. Life moves on and years later Lucas and Gabriel meet again in a New York bar. The attraction between them is still there in every way, but Lucas is still angry with Gabriel for leaving him like that. Without a trace, a word or anything. Will they…

Touch The Sky
Bookreview / April 17, 2016

Today we are in for a treat everyone, because the sweet and wonderful Dana is back with us again. Once again she wrote a review for me and allowed me to publish it on this blog for you all to read. This time she chose the novel Touch The Sky, which was featured here a few days ago as part of the blog tour for the book. Dana really liked the book and gave it 4 out of 5 stars, so it must be good. Thank you Dana for writing this….. We got this… …was Gabriel and Lucas’ signature tagline for ending their e-mails, when they were troubled teens who met in an online forum, became best friends and told each other everything…even that they thought they were gay. Lucas lived with his alcoholic mother, who struggled to provide for their small family and to stay sober. While Gabriel’s parents were quite well off, his father was violent and not above using his fists to convince his son to see things his way and his mother distant and cold. They were dreaming big together: as soon as they were both 18, they were going to leave home, move to LA…

But then Gabriel disappeared without so much as a goodbye, and Lucas got himself in trouble with the law. Five years later, both men are at a loss when they run into each other at a Hollywood bar. Lucas is still angry, but it’s not as if Gabriel could control how his mind and body had betrayed him. Being found on the ledge of that bridge had changed everything. The attraction is immediate, but it’s more than their inability to keep their hands off each other. Neither man expects the fierce connection pulling them together. Unfortunately, ignoring their problems doesn’t make them disappear. Gabriel’s internal struggles are serious…dangerous. And no…

The History of Us
Bookreview / December 22, 2015

The History of Us is the first YA novel I read by Nyrae Dawn, but if they are all this good it will certainly not be the last. This book is so emotional and so heart felt it will stay with you for days after you read it. I loved every page of it and I will certainly read it again and again in the future. Bradley Collins is 18 years old and recently came out as gay. No problems there, his life goes on as usual. He has never met any other gay people, but why would he need them anyway. He’s got his friends and his sports so what more could he need? TJ is a major film freak and he really likes Bradley. But when he tries to flirt with Bradley in front of his friends, Bradley flips out. Never has another guy flirted with him and most certainly not in front of his best friends. What would they be thinking? Bradley decides to join TJ on a road trip for his senior project documentary. TJ has set out to record the history of gay America and wants to meet up with all kinds of people from…

Cover Reveal: A Hundred Thousand Words
Bookteaser / October 8, 2015

A Hundred Thousand Words is the new novel by Nyrae Dawn, due to come out on November 17 and already up for pre order. Nyrae contacted me personally and wanted to share the cover for this wonderful new book with you first. If the story is as good as the cover, I will be buying this for sure. For those of you who don’t already know Nyrae Dawn is a pen name for the author Riley Hart, who has been published on this blog before. She will tell you why she did this in her own blog post right here.   Blurb: Tobias Jackson grew up in Coburn, a town where the queer population equaled exactly one: him. Add that to the fact that his dream guy was his best friend’s jerky older brother Levi Baxter, and it made hooking up virtually impossible. Now home from college for winter break, Toby is a different person. He left Coburn for San Francisco, where he wasn’t the lone gay guy and the only black kid in town. And yeah, he took advantage of what the city had to offer. Apparently Toby isn’t the only one who’s changed. Levi’s not acting like the…
