Out of the Rain
Bookreview / July 30, 2015

Out of the Rain is the latest short story by Renae Kaye and as with all her books this one is hot, sizzling and very sexy. Only 38 pages though, so not too much is happening. Mitch is an electrician, owning his own company and getting through life very well. At 38 he has life experience but never expected to find love or romance in his life. Who would want to be with a guy like him after all. Then one night his elderly neighbour calls him. There is a man sitting in her garden, out in the pouring rain and she doesn’t know what to do. Mitch goes over there and finds Elijah, very drunk and very sad. Mitch takes him home out of the rain and puts him up for the night. The next day he learns that Elijah told his parents he was gay and they kicked him out of the house. Now he has nothing and no one and just has to find his way in life again. Mitch likes the young man a lot but he is too young, too pretty and too bruised for him. What he feels inside could never be real… Slowly…

The Shearing Gun
Bookreview / December 19, 2014

Another book by Renae Kaye, so automatically a favorite of mine. This book is also set in Australia, this time in an area with a lot of sheep. Hank is 25 years old and owns a piece of land in South West Australia. When Hank revealed to his father he is gay, his father kicked him out of the house. And because Hank makes his money by shearing sheep, and no one will hire a gay shearer, he has remained in the closet all this time. That is, until Elliot comes along. Elliot is the new doctor in town. Fresh from the city and still trying to find his ground in this small town. Hank comes to Elliot with a small injury and the attraction is instant between the boys. But can they keep the relation a secret in this small town? And is it really necessary to do so? In the end, do we choose love or life? The story is great, the build up slow but sure. The relation between the boys is slowly developing, starting out with glances and ending in very explicit sex scenes. Both boys must decide what they want to do and if they…

Safe in His Arms
Bookreview / December 19, 2014

This is another book by the wonderful Renae Kaye. I have read almost all of her books and I absolutely love them. Strong characters who seem unlikely together, but in the end form a perfect fit. In this book we meet Lon and Casey. Lon works in the Australian mines and is a big strong and muscled guy as we see on the front of the book. Casey is a small boy who has been through a lot in his life. Casey is looking for safety and protection and finds it in the arms of Lon, who welcomes the young man in his life. But will they be able to stay together, even though they differ in age and lifestyle. And will everyone accept Lon as Casey’s boyfriend, although he is older and stronger than Casey? The thing about Renae Kaye books is that the characters are easy to see in front of you. They are believable, accurate and very easy to follow. The stories are good, there is sex and romance and there is always a happy ending. She manages to make the strangest combinations of people and make them fit together perfectly. I know that when I start…
