Rhythm & Blues
Bookreview / June 15, 2016

Rhythm & Blues is the new novel by Shae Connor. Not too long ago I participated in the blogtour for this book, this time I actually read the book. And I must say, it wasn’t bad, but it also wasn’t the most fantastic thing I ever read. But it provides for a nice short read that will get you through the day and leave you with a smile on your face. Pate Hawkins used to be a Broadway dancer, but a knee injury ended his career and now he has to go for a new plan. He went back to Atlanta and is determined to open his own dance academy to train a new generation of dancers. But before that can happen, the space he intends to use needs to be remodeled and Pate hires a contractor for that. So when Ace Samson shows up, one of the most gorgeous constructors Pate has ever seen, he knows he is in for some trouble. Pretty soon the construction is on the way, but the hot romance between the two men is also flaring up. Everything seems to be working out great, until Pate receives a call asking him to come back…

Nobody’s Son – Sons #3
Bookreview / December 26, 2015

Nobody’s Son is part 3 in the Sons series by Shae Connor. I already read part 1 and part 2, so this part was definitely on my TBR list. Part 3 focuses on Shaun Rogers, who we already met in the previous parts. Every other character from par 1 and 2 will return also, but only to serve as background for the story. And I can say part 3 is a great addition to the series, I read it with great pleasure. Shaun Rogers has a job working the front desk of a “clothing optional” gay resort, owned by his friend Jimmy. Shaun is also gay, but nobody knows that yet. Or at least not that many people know about it. Shaun is afraid most of all to tell his religious grandmother, afraid of what she will say. He still lives in her basement after his mother died. He doesn’t even know who his father is. One day in walks Conrad “Con” Brooks to install a new IT system in the resort. Shaun is immediately drawn to the older IT guy, but afraid to act on his feelings. It could never lead anywhere after all and he is not one…

Accidental Love
Bookreview / July 1, 2015

Accidental Love is a book in the Hot College Daze series by Shae Connor. All stories are written by different authors, but all are set in college and revolve around students, professors or some other combination of people found there. Most of the times the combinations are unlikely but work very well. In this part we meet Greg and Keith, college roommates. Both are gay, but they don’t know that in the beginning. Greg thinks sex is equal to things he gave up like alcohol and drugs. If he ever gives in again, he will fall right back in to the bad past and he doesn’t want that to happen. Keith is all about casual sex, never wanting more because he thinks he doesn’t deserve it. Every weekend he goes out to gay bars and clubs, gets his satisfaction and comes back for the week. So why is it that Greg can’t stop looking at Keith when he is in their room? No matter if he is asleep or just watching tv, Greg cannot stop looking and feel a growing desire inside of him. But he can’t give in to it, because that would mean bad things. At first, Keith…

Sand & Water
Bookreview / June 30, 2015

Sand & Water is another book by Shae Connor, actually the second one I read from this author. I liked it, although it was a bit slow here and there. Not that much sex involved, but a whole lot of romance and love. John McConnell is a widower raising his young daughter alone on the island of Tybee in Georgia. He is living with his sister and trying to get his life back together after his wife died. At the moment there is no way he is going to be dating again, let alone find that special person again. Until he meets Bryan Simmons in the park, father to one of his daughters friends. John hasn’t always been straight in the past, so it is no strange feeling for him when he finds Bryan attractive. The feelings are mutual and Bryan also has strong feelings for John. But Bryan has a lot of emotional baggage of his own that he needs to deal with. Together they learn to deal with their feelings and start putting the demons to rest. For the first time in a long time they start feeling loved again and actually think there can be something more…

Wayward Son – Sons #2
Bookreview / June 15, 2015

Wayward Son is part 2 in the Sons series by Shae Connor and loosely relates to the events in part 1. In part 2 we meet Mikey O’Malley who moved away from his conservative parents and wants to be free for the first time. He temporarily moves in with Riley, who we met in part 1. Riley is now living together with Evan and they are happy together. Mikey wants some happiness of his own, but needs a little guidance in life. He is an art student, out and proud gay and looking to work in animation. And there is not one, but two men interested in him . Cory Lassiter and Jimmy Black have been together for years as a couple and are very happy together. Every now and then they bring in a third for some fun, but it never gets serious. Until they meet Mikey and both fall in love with the boy. Mikey is equally attracted to both men and is wondering if there will be a place for him in that relationship. Mikey finds a job with an amusement park, only to have it fall through when a background check reveals an accusation of child…
