Jerkbait
Bookreview / July 30, 2016

Jerkbait by Mia Siegert is one of those books that seems to be all the rage for a few days and than just fade away in the background again. All of a sudden this book is inescapable, you seem to see it everywhere. So than I decide to read it because it must be really good when everyone is talking about it. And then it just isn’t…. I mean it is not bad, but I certainly don’t understand the hype about it. What makes this book so very special? This book would fall in the YA category I guess, since it seems to be dealing with high school kids. Tristan and Robbie are identical twins, but they don’t seem to be sharing all that much. Tristan is the shy one, Robbie is the outgoing and popular one. So when Robbie tries to kill himself and fails everyone is in shock. Why would he do such a thing when there seems to be no reason for it. Because someone needs to keep an eye on Robbie their parents force them to share a room together and that causes all kinds of problems. Neither boy has any privacy left and Tristan is…

No! Jocks Don’t Date Guys – Jock #2
Bookreview / May 2, 2016

No! Jocks Don’t Date Guys is the second part in the Jock series. I read part 1 in the past and I liked it very much. As you all know I have a special place in my heart for jock and nerd stories and this one falls right in that category. And I loved it so much ! Chris Jackson has always been raised learning one thing. Every man in his family dates and eventually marries a cheerleader. His father did, his brother did and everyone expect him to do the same. But what happens when Chris learns his attractions are different? Alonzo Martin is everything but a cheerleader. He is not blond and he most certainly doesn’t dress like a cheerleader. With black hair, combat boots and nail polish he tries very hard to not give in to the attention Chris is giving him. After all, why would a jock be interested in someone like him at all? It has to be some kind of trick to make him look stupid right? From the moment Chris saw Alonzo, he has been feeling weird things. There is something about this guy that makes him want to be a better man…

My Roommate’s a Jock? Well, Crap! – Jock #1
Bookreview / January 26, 2016

My Roommate’s a Jock? Well, Crap! is the first part in the new Jock series by Wade Kelly. Now I for one absolutely love the whole jock-nerd theme and so I was anxious to read this book. And I wasn’t disappointed at all, I loved this book. I can only hope the other parts will be just as great as this one. Cole Reid is gay and was publicly outed by his high school baseball team. Because of that he really really hates jocks of any kind and has become somewhat of a loner. He wants things to go his way and is somewhat of a neat freak. So when his roommate moves out to be with his girlfriend Cole is looking for a new roommate, but one that will live up to his expectations and rules. And absolutely no jocks allowed. So what does the manager send him as a replacement? Ellis Montgomery is messy, gorgeous, of course straight, and to top it all of a jock of the worst kind. So when he shows up at Coles door, accompanied by ┬ásome of his loud friends, Cole is about to have a heart attack. But a whole school year…

Play On – Glasgow Lads #0.5
Bookreview / December 23, 2015

Play On is the first novel in the new Glasgow Lads series by Avery Cockburn (I really do hope it is an alias). The series is made up of several books who can all be read separately but are set in the same background. We focus on an LGBT soccer team in Glasgow where all team members find love one by one. And this first one is a major promise for the rest to come…. Duncan Harris is a member of a LGBT soccer team, out and proud. But now his team is ripped apart by scandal and trouble. Their captain deserted them in the sight of victory and now they need a way to find each other again or lose the team forever. And for Duncan there is only one person who can ground him again and bring him back to where he needs to be. Brodie Campbell was bullied by his schoolmates in a small village, so he was really deep in the closet when he came out to Glasgow. Once at the university he came out and is now proud of what he is and who he is. But all the abuse has left mental scars that…

Him
Bookreview / August 8, 2015

Him is a novel written by two authors, namely Sarina Bowen and Elle Kennedy. Both have written novels separately and have now combined forces. And very successful I might ad, cause this is one hot story. If you like ice hockey and sporty type men, this is the one for you. Jamie Canning and Ryan Wesley have always been best friends and shared pretty much everything, until about 4 years ago. They were on a hockey camp together and the last night they spend together lead to some weird things. But it was nothing serious and no one was hurt, right? Ryan Wesley is gay, but never told his best friend Jamie that. And now he feels guilty about luring his straight friend into something that was never meant to happen. Sure he has always had a major crush on Jamie, but he always knew it would lead to nothing. Now the sport has lead them together again and Ryan will finally have his chance to apologize to Jamie. But the second he lays eyes on the guy again, he knows the long time crush is far from over and the feelings are still as deep as ever. What to…

Bookreview / June 12, 2015

Outing the Quarterback by Tara Lain is part 1 in the Long Pass Chronicles series. The series is all about professional athletes or active sporters who are gay, but afraid to come out of the closet fearing they might damage their reputation. But of course than the one true love comes along and they are forced to reconsider. In part 1 we meet Will Ashford, who plays a very high level of football and majors in business. Secretly he wants to be an artist and earn his living by painting. But he knows his father will never accept that. And oh yeah, he is also gay. Secretly he is attending art class after hours. There he meets Noah Zajack, who models for the class. Will is instantly taken by him and can’t stop thinking about the guy. Noah’s life is completely different from Will’s life. Noah is not rich and is forced to work multiple jobs to even get by and has to carefully plan every day and every meal. He likes Will a lot but doesn’t want to be treated like a charity case.
