This has got to be one of the worst books I ever read. Maybe it…
David Becker recently moved to town and is looking for some people to do work on his new house. Then his eye is caught by the young Austin who has been hired for the job and works his ass of to impress his boss.
David wasn’t looking for someone to share his life with, but the more he sees from Austin the more he likes him and finds that he really wants him in his life.
Austin is afraid to admit his feelings for David, thinking there is no such thing as love without strings attached. Could it be that this man is really falling for him and wants him for who he is, not what he can do?
David sets himself to the task of making Austin see that he is worthy of love and deserves a little kindness in his life. But whenever Austin feels unwelcome or unloved he runs away, trying to kill the pain before it starts.
I really loved this book and I just couldn’t stop reading once I started. Austin had my sympathy straight away and David is a sweet kind person to keep on going and not give up on Austin.
The guys are a little different in age, Austin a student, David a college professor. But aside from some small trouble, they both don’t care about it. And it is not the main point of the story.
This book is highly recommended in my opinion and I hope to read more from Sloan Johnson in the future. Find out more on her personal website here.
