Served Hot – Portland Heat #1

April 9, 2015

Served Hot is the first part in the new Portland Heat series by Annabeth Albert. Other parts are Baked Fresh and Delivered Fast that will come out later this year. All books are about food, coffee, shops and restaurants and all are placed in the Portland area, hence the title of the series.

In this first part we meet Robby, a self employed barista who serves coffee and cakes to a long line of customers every day. He owns the business and loves it very much. And he has a major crush on one of his regular customers, David. At first he knows little about David, just that he is cute, friendly and is very easy to chat with. Robby is looking for a way to ask David out, but never seems to find the chance.

Until David shows up at the local Pride festival and Robby finally gets his chance. But the more they get together in the relation, the more it seems that David has some problems of his own and needs to work through them first. But can Robby wait that long?

It’s not a big book, but I loved loved loved it. Both guys are so cute, sweet and trying to find ways to get together. And the fact that Robby is prepared to wait for David, even if he wants things to go faster, just made my heart go a little faster. So right now I cannot wait to read part 2 and 3 (Yes I have already pre ordered them) and tell you all about it.

You can find Annabeths personal website right here. Her description on Goodreads goes as following “Frequent tweeter, professional grammar nerd, and obsessive reader, Annabeth Albert is also a Pacific Northwest romance writer in a variety of subgenres.¬†Emotionally complex, sexy, and funny stories are her favorites both to read and to write. In between searching out dark heroes to redeem, she works a rewarding day job and wrangles two toddlers.”

And keep coming back for reviews of part 2 and 3.
